Description: About the artist : Fine Art Photography by Margrit Schwarz
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as goos as dead: his eyes are closed." - Albert Einstein, 1931
Margrit Schwarz is a photographer working at the intersection of art and science. Forever fascinated by the natural world and its shapes, forces, and patterns, she enjoys hunting for images that are transient and fleeting -- objects and scenes magically transformed by fresh snow or a sudden ray of sunlight, along with reflections and shadows revealing of abstract shapes and layers beyond the visible. A sense of scale and context is deliberately absent from many of her images, inviting the viewer to explore their own perceptions of reality. Her compositions at times reflect the rare and temporary harmony of natural elements in balance, but more often than not convey the raw energy of their inexorable transitions. The mystery and excitement of transforming nature into an abstract canvas is the driving force behind Margrit's photographic work.
