I recently had a 10 year old refrigerator start acting up and I was tired of having the repair guys come out and replace/repair parts. This latest time I said screw-it, time for a brand new one. Well, easier said than done. We have a narrow galley kitchen and finding a fridge that fits and has doors that can open all the way is difficult, here is where Howard's comes into play.
I never walked into the showroom, just shopped online until I saw one that would fit and had an ice-maker (greatest invention EVER. ). Instead of ordering online I wanted to speak with an actual person about delivery, availability, etc. I called at 9:30am as I wanted this thing NOW, otherwise I'd have to deal with rotting food, noone wants that. My call was properly routed to the kitchen appliance department, I spoke with a lady named, Yvonne Morales, she was very knowledgeable about what they had on hand, pricing and the delivery process. Oh yeah, get this, I called before the store opened (10:00am), in my haste I didn't realize that my urgency got the best of me and I called a store that was closed. Yvonne, didn't even bring this up until she needed to enter my information into the computer and apologized that I would receive the email confirmation/receipt when the store opened, that is great customer service. Anyway, once I got the email I decided to check the dimensions of my kitchen with the door at 90 degrees open, guess what, off by a couple inches. If installed, it wouldn't open fully, since I wanted a fully functional fridge and couldn't imagine the embarrassment of telling my wife what happened, I called Howard's. I got Yvonne again, awesome, described the issue and within a few minutes she gave me the model code for a different fridge with french/double doors that would actually fit, revised my original order and even gave me the price from yesterday as it had just gone back to regular price.
Yvonne, mentioned that the process for delivery was a day before delivery, I would receive a phone call letting me know the window of time for delivery. And that is exactly what happened, I received an automated call that stated delivery would be between noon and 2:00pm, hit the button for 1 to confirm and done. Next day comes along and in the beginning half of the window the delivery guys showed up. They took the time to remove my old busted fridge with care as it was crammed into its space and setup my new one without a scratch or ding. In with the new out with the old, What more could you ask for?
I typically don't like shelling out cash to replace items that are merely replacements with little to no additional benefit, but sometimes you gotta do it. What I can say is that my experience with Howard's did put me in a better mood.
