Hello, i have a 2005 Kia Picanto 1.1 LX version, with automatic transmission. I am not a native speaker, so sorry in advance if i type something wrong.

I would provide more info about servising, but i got it from my father as a gift. Only thing i know is that the check engine light was turning on since he bought it and even after many visits at Kia, nothing wrong was found. I bought the OBD2 adapter and this is what i found.

The symptoms i noticed are: When i rapidly break and at that point i start accelerating again the car knocks. (i think that is the right term, its just not smooth and i often find the front wheel spinning at place, mostly when breaking and accelerating when going up the hill) I feel like the wheels are "stuck" on one gear tooth and it gets hit from the engines power. Most often before that i found the car reving up in neutral and then shifting rapidly to first gear and that causes the front wheels to spin. One time i needed to accelerate very quickly, because i had little time to turn at crossroad and i got to 5K RPM and then the car shifted and teared so badly that i felt really bad for it. One important information, it only does this when the car is heated up. It never did this when cold and also Reverse doesnt do it at all. Reverse is really smooth.

Another thing i noticed is that when it shifts from 3rd to 4th, it goes from 3k rpm to 2,5k and at that point it shifts again from 2,5k to 2k. I also noticed that it never stayed in 2,5k, i think its skipping a gear? But that cant be it since its only 4 speed transmission. Everyone i asked said that it shifts to "Overdrive", but i though that overdrive is the 4th gear in this transmission, it doesnt make any sense.

Few times also happened the opposite thing. It shifted from 3k to 2,5k (3rd to 4th) and it stayed there and i couldnt make it go to said 2k, it just stayed there the whole time. I had to switch the car off and on again to get it start working again. Its not good at highway because i get to 3,5k at 105 km/h, when normally i get to 130km/h at 3,5k. It doesnt make any sense. Why sometimes i cant get it to 2k and sometimes it forces me to go in 2,5k. I have no idea about the insides of the car so this is the only way i noticed that there is something wrong. I though that its 1,2,3,4 + OD, but at some sites i found out that the OD is 4th gear, so right now im really confused.

Last, less important problem. The car wont start sometimes. It spins great, but it wont start. It got much better after we took out and cleaned the fuel pump, but it still happens occasionally. Could it be spark plugs?
